Before use:

Soak in water (completely immersed) for at least 12 hours.

Remove from water and let it dry.

Apply any cooking oil on the cooking surface.

 

Use:

Cook dal, vegetables or rice for the first 2 or 3 times.

Do not make a tempering on the clay cookware

Make the tadka in a different vessel and add to the cookware.

Don’t expose the cookware to extreme temperature conditions as there are chances of surface crack.

 

Cleaning:

Clay cookware should not be cleaned with soap instead use baking soda.

Please use only a scrub.

Then use a piece of lemon with salt to scrub the inside and outside surfaces.

Then wash with hot water.

Once a week, dry in sun light to prevent any formation of fungus.
