Humans have used salt to flavor and preserve foods for thousands of years. Pink Himalayan salt is a type of salt that’s naturally pink in color and mined near the Himalayas. It's loaded with minerals and provides incredible health benefits. The salt is hand-extracted and minimally processed to yield an unrefined product that’s free of additives and thought to be much more natural than table salt.
Like table salt, pink Himalayan salt is mostly sodium chloride.
However, the natural harvesting process allows pink Himalayan salt to possess many other minerals and trace elements that are not found in regular table salt.
Naturelands Himalayan pink rock salt is a salt, pink in color, extracted from the oldest salt mine situated near the Himalayas in Pakistan i.e. from Khewra salt mine. Himalayan Rock Salt is also known as Sendha Namak. It is extracted from hands which indicates it is unrefined and free from additives. The natural harvesting process of this salt does not carry minerals away from it. It consists of a significantly higher number of minerals than regular salt which gives it pink color. The chemical composition of Himalayan salt includes 95-96% sodium chloride, 2-3% polyhalite and small quantities of several minerals.
